Is Magick real?

Is Magick real? Am I a witch? If you find yourself asking this question, the chances are you definitely are a witch. However, what makes someone a witch? Being a witch can mean something different for each person. For example, feeling connected to nature, sensing somebody’s vibe is off, or even being able to predict things before they happen. 

Personally, I believe we all have abilities we can tap into, it’s just that most of us choose not to. To quote Roald Dahl “Those who don’t believe in magic, will never find it!” And it’s so true. You have to believe in magick to feel it. 

Some of us struggle sometimes with believing in something we cannot see. When I first started my spiritual journey over 20 years ago, I battled with what I was being drawn to and what I believed was true scientifically. 

Only when I realised they were the same thing, could I fully embrace my craft and the path I was drawn to. Yes, I fully believe science and witchcraft are completely and utterly connected, and here’s why… 

Picture yourself back in the 1600’s. You’re a humble milkmaid and you somehow time travel to 2025. Someone shows you a smart phone. They tell you that you can watch people acting out shows on this small device, you can talk to people all over the world and it can answer any question you have. There are signals flying around everywhere connecting these devices but they’re invisible.

There are huge towers that connect energy to our homes and give us light. You’re told we can travel in the sky to far away lands and even go up into space. You make it back to 1600 and you try to explain what you have seen, but you are hanged. For this must be witchcraft and can’t possibly be true. 

You get the idea. We can’t see electricity, but we know it’s real. Same with WIFI and Bluetooth and even the energy from the sun. Science tells us that energy exists. We know energy cannot be created nor destroyed. We know we can harness it and manipulate it. That’s all witchcraft is, energy. 

In witchcraft, we work with the energy from inside of us, the energy from the moon or even the sun. We work with crystals and herbs and even sound. Science tells us all of these things have energy and frequencies. 

There is Magick all around us every single day and most people don’t think twice about it. Nature example, did you know that when a woman is pregnant, if she suffers organ damage, the baby inside of her will send stem cells to repair that organ! How is that not Magick. 

Another one of my favourites is that trees are connected via an underground network of fungi called mycelium. This allows trees to communicate with each other and send nutrients. When I first heard this one, it made me think of Avatar it really sounds mystical and made up, but this is real and there are so many more examples of Magick in everything around us. 

And if science can’t explain it, that doesn’t mean it’s not real, it just means we’re not there yet. I’m convinced even the unexplained will one day be explained. I also think that nature and everything around us is pure Magick.
